I agree, although the apparent advantage could be short lived. Audi is reportedly working on an RS version of their already potent S3, called the RS3, and Volkswagen is expected to announce details of the R32’s replacement, the R20T, in September this year. The Audi will reportedly have 253kW available while the Golf will have around 200kW. Both will be fitted with 4-wheel drive versus the Ford’s front-wheel drive. In the case of the R20T, VW’s 4-Motion technology could make up for it’s slight lack of power compared to that of the front-wheel drive Focus RS with 224kW.
