A few months ago we brought you news of Koenigsegg’s special diamond-coated carbon fibre CCXR. Now we’ve heard that 1 of the 3 has been sold by Future Exotics, right here in South Africa, for a cool US$5 million (around R30 million)! And get this, a second one is on the way!
The Trevita is made using a unique carbon fibre manufacturing technique where the individual fibres are coated in a diamond finish. The Trevita still has the same performance potential as the standard CCXR, producing 593 kW and 920 N.m of torque. The CCXR weighs just 1280 kg’s, launches from zero to 100 km/h in a mind-blowing 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 395 km/h.

One of the cars is sitting in the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town at the Future Exotics Garage. I asked how much and as stated above “About R30 million”.
A salesperson at the Aston Martin garage said that the insurance on it is around R70 000 a month (yes 70 large).
