Monster by Mulliner: 3400W meets 382kW

Audiophiles of the motor world were in for a treat at CES in Las Vegas last week when Monster (the audio company, not the energy drink) and Bentley’s coach-building division, Mulliner, displayed their latest collaborative project; in the form of a unique Bentley Continental known as the Monster by Mulliner. It’s not rare for audio experts to team up with car manufacturers to get the best sound systems for their cars; Audi teams up with Bang & Olufsen, Porsche works with Burmester and there’s even a Beats Audio version of the trendy Fiat 500L, but don’t assume that any of the equipment in your Porsche or Fiat compares to what’s in this Bentley, no. It’s not called the Monster by Mulliner for nothing.

Based on a Bentley Continental GT V8 S, the Monster by Mulliner has received bold alterations by the coachbuilders in an attempt to differentiate it from any other Bentley. It flaunts the distinct red and black colour scheme associated with Monster throughout the car’s bodywork, including red splitters and hints of red surrounding the trademark grille. There’s also an exclusive custom body kit, complimented by polished black alloy wheels and black bonnet vents.

The custom red quilted leather cabin is fitted with custom seats by Mulliner and a fascia panel has been laser-etched exclusively for the car. Custom kick plates on the door sills feature the illustrious Monster motto – ‘Always lead, never follow’, and if that isn’t enough, there’s a special compartment that houses Monster’s latest 24K Gold DJ wireless headphones. Not to worry though, as these are gold painted and not gold plated, so they won’t be doubling the asking price for the car.

The most significant upgrade, however, is to the Bentley GT’s sound system. With 3400 Watts of power purely for music, the driver will have to decide every morning whether to listen to the growl of the 382kW twin-turbocharged V8 under the bonnet or to be captivated by the ‘Pure Monster Sound’. Either way, the driver will still be listening to a Monster.
