Limited edition Audi R8 Selection 24h salutes racing heroes.

Meet the limited edition Audi R8 Selection 24; an exclusive model paying homage to Audi’s prowess in motor racing. In 2015 the Audi R8 LMS won the 24 Hours Nürburgring on its debut, adding to Audi’s tally of 323 wins in national and international race assignments since 2009.

The Selection 24h will be limited to 24 examples and is based on the new Audi R8 Coupé V10 plus. Its 5.2-liter V10 powerplant houses 449 kW and accelerates the flagship supercar from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.2 seconds before topping out at 330 km/h.

The special technical package in the “Selection 24h” edition includes dynamic steering, adaptive damper control system, Audi magnetic ride and Audi laser lighting. The tricolour paint finish consisting of Suzuka Grey, Mythos Black and Misano Red details are reminiscent of the successful Audi R8 LMS.

The front spoiler, exterior mirror housings, engine compartment cover, rear wing and diffuser are treated to a glossy carbon fibre finish, adding subtle hints to the performance that lurks beneath the bonnet. The same applies to the matt-finished sideblades that flaunt an exclusive “R8 24h” logo. Black is the new black when it comes to the lower parts of the “selection 24h”, with the tailpipes of the sport exhaust system featuring black trims and 20” gloss anthracite black forged wheels replacing the usual metallic silver aluminium wheels.

The interior of the exclusive model is adorned with full-leather upholstery and Alcantara headlining. The illuminated door sill trims are made of gloss-finish carbon and display the serial numbers, 1 to 24, for each of the limited-edition cars. As an exclusive feature of the limited edition, the entry lights on the doors project the Audi R8 logo onto the road surface.

Order books for the Audi R8 Selection 24h will be open from May 10, 2016, and it will carry a price tag of around R4,1million in Germany.
