It’s the Suzuki Swift RS that’s slower than the Sport

Suzuki South Africa has confirmed the launch of a special edition Swift RS. The Swift remains one of Suzuki’s most popular models with over 5 000 000 sales globally.

The new special edition Suzuki Swift RS will feature a number of exterior changes to provide a sportier appearance  while maintaining the same 1.2L 63kW engine found in the Swift 1.2 GL- that means a claimed fuel consumption figure of 5.3L/100 km. These RS badges really have lost their performance clout.

Front and rear spoilers as well as new side skirts will visually lower the car, giving it a sportier appearance. To add to the sporty design, the Swift 1.2 RS will come with dark machined rims, painted side mirror covers and dark blue decals on the non-optional Artic White Pearl Metallic paint scheme.

The interior is mostly unchanged from the Swift 1.2 GL apart from the addition of custom seat covers. Standard equipment includes electric windows, a radio/CD player with Bluetooth connectivity, air conditioning, a multi-function steering wheel and 2 airbags.

The Swift RS is available in limited numbers as of February 2017. The price tag of R184 00, – R20 000 up on the standard model – includes a 3 year/ 100 000 km warranty and 3 year/ 30 000 km service plan.
