Video: The Rise Of The Classic Porsche 911
As with most things in life, technology continues to spur the evolution of the automobile at an increasing rate. The new Porsche 911 (991) for example, is the first production car to feature a 7-speed manual transmission, while the new 991 GT3 features four-wheel steering.
History repeats itself, however, and there is a growing desire to return to the roots of the Porsche 911 driving experience via rebuilt and restored 911 classics. Companies like Singer and individuals like Tasso Charalampidis, as well as the Porsche Classics program seen in this video, are all turning out ‘as new’ examples of 911s of old.
