Hyundai adds value with 7 year/200 000km warranty
Hyundai vehicles have always been known for peace of mind motoring and if you don’t believe this from us, believe it from Hyundai themselves. Hyundai Automotive South Africa has implemented a new “7 years or 200 000km” manufacturer’s warranty towards their new vehicles, which is a first in the local automotive industry. This decision will promote even better resale value of Hyundai vehicles while putting customers at ease.
New Hyundai models will come with 7-yr/200 000km warranty in SA
The new warranty will come into action from 1 February 2016 and will cover a large selection of engine and transmission components of any Hyundai passenger car and light commercial vehicle sold by Hyundai Automotive SA.
“We are proud to be a leader once again in the South Africa automotive industry with a manufacturer’s warranty that really bears testimony of the trust that we place in our products. Our cars’ quality and reliability have established excellent resale values over the years, and many thousands of Hyundai customers and drivers can vouch for the peace of mind that our products bring to the consumer,” says marketing director of Hyundai Automotive South Africa, Stanley Anderson.
Back in 2007, Hyundai introduced the 5-year/150 000km manufacturer’s warranty which took the local automotive community by surprise. This was the most important feature of a Hyundai buyer’s package, and it quickly became a promise of their cars quality and dependability.
“The new, extended warranty fits in with Hyundai’s mission, which is to become a trusted lifetime partner to our customers by bringing a new perspective to automobiles through innovation,” says Anderson.
Technical details state that the new warranty will cover engine components such as the timing chain, cylinder block, head gasket, cylinder head and crank case, amongst other parts. Turbo-chargers, water pumps, flywheels and engine mountings also fall within the warranty, while pressure plates and torque converters will also be covered in the gearboxes.
The vehicles that will be covered by the new 7-year/200 000 km warranty range from the entry-level Hyundai i10, all the way up to the high-end Santa Fe, as well as the 9-seater H-1 bus. The more commercial vehicles that will be benefitting from the new warranty include the H-1 Panel Van and H-1 Multicab, as well as the popular H100.
