Lexus RC F and Track Edition Ready For Germany

Lexus has just revealed their RC F as well as a hardcore track-oriented version of the sports-coupe dubbed the Lexus RC F Track Edition.

The new RC F keeps the fire-breathing 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 from its predecessor, except this time it produces 336kW of power and 520Nm of torque. The incremental power and torque upgrades are due to the modified intake system as well as the new gear ratios in the 8-speed automatic transmission that allows the Lexus RC F to accelerate from rest to 100km/h in 4.5-seconds. Launch control is also fitted as standard.

The weight reduction is taken a step further with aluminium suspension components, steering rack mounts and bushings that are stiffer than before. Combine these improvements with a set of new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres that were exclusively developed for the RC F and the result is a coupe that performs on par with the likes of the BMW M4.

The RC F Track Edition takes the model line a bit deeper, offering “the ability to impress on the track and off” through its numerous modifications to aerodynamics and handling, such as a redesigned carbon fibre front splitter with a matching spoiler, carbon-ceramic brakes, carbon fibre body panels, lightweight BBS alloy rims and a titanium exhaust system.

Production of the new models is expected to begin in March 2019, with pricing to be announced closer to the time.
